NEERAJ WINS LAUSANNE DIMOND LEAGUE (JAVLINE THROW EVENT)

• Lausanne, 1/07/2023: Javelin thrower Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra has won gold medal in Lausanne Diamond League. He has been suffering from injury for the past one month. He made a comeback and finished on the podium in Lausanne and brought glory to India in international athletics.
• In Lausanne, Neeraj had a tough competition with Julian Weber of Germany and Jakub Vadlej of Czech Republic.
• In the first attempt, Julian took the lead with a throw of 86.20 meters. But Niraj failed in his first attempt. He threw 83.52 meters in his second attempt. He improved his performance by throwing 85.04 meters in the third attempt. He failed in the fourth attempt, but in the fifth attempt he threw 87.66 meters and advanced to the first place. Julian threw 87.03 meters in the sixth attempt and took the second place with Silver and Jakub also won the bronze medal with a throw of 86.13 meters in the final attempt.
• On May 5, Neeraj won the gold medal by throwing 88.67 meters in the Doha Diamond League.
• He is the first Indian to win a second gold in the Diamond League.
